Residential Aged Care
We provide premium residential aged care on the Gold Coast, in a friendly, progressive environment designed to make our residents feel right at home.
Our extra service communities at Merrimac and Ashmore cater for all residential aged care needs, including short term respite care, secure dementia care and palliative care. This range of expertise combined with 24 hour on-site nursing care, enables HillView to continue to care for your loved one, even as their care needs change.
Our residents enjoy choice about how they run their day and how they are cared for, just like they would have if living in their own home. Medication and aged care services are provided in the privacy of their room and the HillView team enable and encourage each resident to remain as independent as possible.
5 star aged care
HillView is an extra services community, which means we provide our residents with premium services, superior quality rooms and communal spaces, and exceptional facilities. This makes our aged care communities feel more like high quality hotels than a traditional aged care home.
Our residents also enjoy a wide selection of five star meals prepared onsite by our chefs, and they are invited to participate in the many events, outings and everyday activities that are organised each week. We warmly welcome visitors, including friends and grandchildren, and have many lovely spaces residents can use to entertain their guests.
Other highlights include:
• Private ensuites in each room and individually controlled air conditioning
• Views from many rooms and lovely garden areas to enjoy
• Our own hair and beauty services and a beautiful Café at Merrimac that overlooks a Golf Course
• In-room technology, daily housekeeping and a full laundry service
• Protection from a high level of security
• 24 hour care from Registered Nurses and access to our visiting medical teams of General Practitioners, Specialists and Allied Health Professional
You will not find a more dedicated residential aged care team on the Gold Coast
HillView is privately owned by a medical specialist who understands first hand how to deliver excellence in care and respond to changing needs. This flexibility allows HillView to run a highly effective staffing mix that delivers excellent service to our residents, their families and medical teams.
The HillView team comprises carefully selected, highly qualified and regularly trained staff. Everyone in our team is loyal and genuinely passionate about caring for others. They form strong bonds with our residents and take a very respectful and personalised approach to care. They focus on what’s best for each individual.
Of utmost importance is the dignity and independence of our residents.
The care team is diverse. We have staff of different genders, age groups and cultural backgrounds. This brings richness and vibrancy to our HillView family.
Families regularly comment on how their loved one has flourished under our care. We attribute this to our nutritious food, close monitoring of care need and medication, and the positive impact added companionship and activity has on our residents.
The aged care entry process
Arranging entry into residential aged care can be a little overwhelming. We can assist with the application process and answer any of your questions as you navigate through the aged care system.
Your loved one will need to be assessed. The Government’s My Aged Care Service will refer you to the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT). The team will make their assessment and then put approvals in place for your loved one to enter residential aged care. For more information call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422.
