Compulsory Influenza Vaccinations

The Department of Health has issued directions that all staff, visitors, health practitioners, volunteers and others (suppliers/contractors) entering a residential aged care service are required by law to have the influenza vaccination from this Friday, 1st May 2020 – view Department of Health FAQs

Please note this is law and penalties and fines will be imposed by the State law enforcement agencies on individuals and corporate entities who do not abide by these regulations.

As such, HillView Care are unable to provide any exceptions. Should the voluntary Lock-Down be lifted in the future, HillView Care is required to obtain evidence of immunisation status from all persons seeking to enter the facility.

Appropriate evidence is:

  • Statement or record from a health practitioner clearly listing individuals name;
  • Immunisation history statement available from Medicare online; or
  • The Express Plus Medicare mobile app.

We ask our Families not to request exceptions from us but approach the Department of Health with queries should they wish to do so.

As the evidence is required prior to entering our sites, we request the appropriate evidence be emailed to: enquiries@hillviewcare.com.au

Please note:  Persons will not be allowed entry if evidence has not been provided.

I would like to emphasise: no flu vaccination evidence = no entry.
